Rick and his wife, Emily, have a daughter at Carolina Park Elementary School and a son at Cario Middle School. Their family calls Darrell Creek home, and prior to that they were long-time residents of Dunes West. He is passionate about volunteering in our educational system and does so because he feels fortunate to live in an area with such great schools for his children. Rick is the Chief Consumer Banking Officer at Pinnacle Financial Partners, where he is responsible for the consumer-related functions of the company throughout the Carolinas and Virginia.
Margaret (Midge) Moran
Midge is a retired Cario teacher. Before coming to Cario, she taught in Honduras, Central America. Her interests include choral singing, gardening, cooking, travel and visiting her family. Midge was a founding member of the PWCEF and encourages you to considering joining us as a volunteer!
Kenny and his wife, Phoebe, live in Dunes West and have been active volunteers in the Park West campus schools since they moved to Mount Pleasant in 2008. They believe that supporting our schools is a civic responsibility that extends well beyond paying taxes, and that parental involvement is the critical component to achieving excellence in education. They have two children, now high schoolers, who attended Laurel Hill, Pinckney and Cario. Kenny’s full-time job is to manage electronic trading at a subsidiary of Tower Research Capital, in Mount Pleasant.
Rick is a retired Army Veteran and an active resident of Mount Pleasant. In addition to his role as our Treasurer, he is President of the Notre Dame Club of Charleston, Chairman of the Mt Pleasant Historical Commission and Executive Board Member for the Avery Institute of Afro American History and Culture. He is uniquely qualified to be our treasurer as a former examiner for the New York Stock Exchange, former Treasurer for Coopers and Lybrand, and has been the CFO for 2 start-up telecommunications companies.
Laurel Hill Primary Campaign Chair
Kathleen lives in Mt. Pleasant with her husband, Michael, and two children – one attends Laurel Hill and the other Charles Pinckney. Originally from Virginia, Kathleen graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Sociology and has been in sales, events and non-profit management ever since. She currently is a member of the leadership team at East Cooper Community Outreach as the Director of Programs. Kathleen is passionate about education and community involvement and on the weekends you can find the entire Forbes family on the soccer field.
Social Media Chair
Danielle, her husband Brian, and their two daughters moved to Mount Pleasant in 2011. The girls have grown up in the Park West campus schools, where one attends Cario Middle School and the other, Wando High School. Danielle likes to spend free time on the boat, at the beach, or taking trips to visit family & friends in Florida, where both she and Brian are from. Danielle works full-time for Verge Health, a Mount Pleasant-based software company.
Pinckney Elementary Campaign Chair
Alison lives in Rivertowne/Planters Pointe with her husband and three girls. All three girls attend Park West Campus schools with one at each Cario, Pinckney and Laurel Hill. Alison graduated from the University of Florida and has worked for nonprofit organizations for over 15 years. She has experience in planning large scale community fundraising events and serves as the Pinckney PTO President. Alison loves to spend time at the beach or cheering on all of her girls on the soccer field.
Cario Middle Campaign Chair
Deanna and her husband Kevin moved to Dunes West in 2011 when their oldest child was starting kindergarten at Laurel Hill. Today all three of their girls are students at Cario Middle School. The Cunnane’s are avid volunteers in the community. Deanna has previously served on the East Cooper Montessori Charter School board, the Laurel Hill School Improvement Committee and the Pinckney Oyster Roast Committee. She also works part time as an HR consultant. She holds an MBA from Pace University and a BA from Seton Hall University. Her husband Kevin is a local attorney and is also a member of the Mount Pleasant Town Council. The family loves to volunteer together with Operation Christmas Child and also enjoys traveling across the United States. They have currently visited over 35 states, but are happy to come home to Mount Pleasant.
Chris and his wife, Katherine, have five children, two of which attend Laurel Hill. Chris was a decorated Police Officer in the NYPD and Long Beach Police Department until he suffered career ending injuries after being hit by a car. In 2014, Chris and his family relocated to Dunes West. For over 20 years, Chris has volunteered his time to various organizations. Today, Chris serves as the Vice President of the Dunes West POA Board of Directors and at Seacoast Church.
Member At Large
Robin has two children that attended the Park West campus schools. Currently, Bennett, 8th grade, attends Cario and Lauren, 9th grade, has moved on to Wando High School. Robin has always volunteered her time to these schools as much as possible. Robin continues to coordinate Cario Middle School’s Internet/Social Media Safety Seminars for parents and students, Cario’s Drug Awareness/Prevention seminars. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Robin worked full-time in the health care field for 20 years and now enjoys working part-time at Ikon Law Firm. This has given her the flexibility to volunteer and remain active with Cario’s PTSO. Robin, her husband Joey and their two children live in Dunes West. She enjoys spending time with her family in the boat, at the beach or the pool. Anything the family can do together is perfect!
